Hadith 61

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَتَحَدَّى النَّاسَ بِالْحِفْظِ، فَصَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ مُخَلَّدٍ، فَقَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ، فَمَا تَرَكَ أَلِفًا وَلَا وَاوًا . " !
The Tabi'i Mujahid, may Allah have mercy on him, said: I used to compete with people in memorization, so I prayed behind Sayyiduna Muslamah bin Makhlad, may Allah be pleased with him, and he recited Surah Al-Baqarah and did not leave out a single Alif or Waw.
