Hadith 57

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ قَالَ: نَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ زَاذَانَ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ قَالَ: كَانَ جِبْرِيلُ يُعَارِضُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي كُلِّ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْعَامُ الَّذِي قُبِضَ فِيهِ عَارَضَهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ . ¤ قَالَ ابْنُ سِيرِينَ: فَيُرْجَى أَنَّ تَكُونَ قِرَاءَتُنَا هَذِهِ عَلَى الْعَرْضَةِ الْأَخِيرَةِ . !
Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Jibreel (peace be upon him) used to review the Qur'an with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) every Ramadan. But in the year the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, Jibreel (peace be upon him) reviewed the Qur'an with him twice. Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) says: "I hope that our recitation (of the Qur'an) will be upon this last recitation that was done."
