Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Recite the Qur'an!" I said: O Messenger of Allah! How can I recite the Qur'an to you when it has been revealed to you?! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I like to hear it from others!" So Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) began reciting Surah An-Nisa, and when he reached this verse: ﴿فَكَيْفَإِذَاجِئْنَامِنْكُلِّأُمَّةٍبِشَهِيدٍوَجِئْنَابِكَعَلَىهَؤُلاءِشَهِيدًا﴾[النساء: 41] (Translation: "Then how will it be when We bring from every nation a witness, and We bring you as a witness over these?"), the eyes of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) began to shed tears and he said: "Enough!"
