قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَمَنْ يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الإِسْلامِ دِينًا فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ}His saying, Exalted is He: {And whoever desires other than Islam as religion—never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.}
Hadith 506

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ: { وَمَنْ يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الإِسْلامِ دِينًا فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ } قَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ: فَنَحْنُ مُسْلِمُونَ، فَقَالَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: فَاخْصِمْهُمْ بِحُجَّتِهِمْ، وَقُلْ: إِنَّ اللهَ فَرَضَ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ حَجَّ الْبَيْتِ، مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا، وَمَنْ كَفَرَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمِلَلِ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ غَنِيٌّ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ .
Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When this verse was revealed: ﴿And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him﴾, the Jews said: We are also Muslims. Allah the Exalted said: Argue with them according to their own proof, and say: Surely Allah has made Hajj to the House of Allah obligatory upon the Muslims, for those who have the ability, and whoever among the people of the religions disbelieves, then surely Allah is free of need from all the worlds.
