Hadith 48

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّفَرِ قَالَ: قَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ: إِنَّا قَوْمٌ أُوتِينَا الْإِيمَانَ قَبْلَ أَنْ نُؤْتَى الْقُرْآنَ، وَإِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ أُوتِيتُمُ الْقُرْآنَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُؤْتَوُا الْإِيمَانَ . !
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We are the people who were granted faith before the Qur'an, and you are the people who were granted the Qur'an before faith.
