قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ وَلَمْ تَجِدُوا كَاتِبًا فَرِهَانٌ مَقْبُوضَةٌ}His saying, Exalted is He: {And if you are on a journey and cannot find a scribe, then a security deposit should be taken.}
Hadith 468

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا يَزِيدُ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ: (فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا كُتَّابًا)، قَالَ: يَعْنِي الْكَاتِبَ، وَالصَّحِيفَةَ، وَالدَّوَاةَ، وَالْقَلَمَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to recite this verse as: «فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا كُتَّابًا», and said: That is, the scribe, paper, inkwell, and pen are not found.
