قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَلا يَأْبَ الشُّهَدَاءُ إِذَا مَا دُعُوا}His saying, Exalted is He: {And let not the witnesses refuse when they are called.}
Hadith 463

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ وَخَالِدٌ وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: إِذَا دُعِيَ لِيَشْهَدَ، وَإِذَا دُعِيَ لِيُقِيمَهَا، فَكِلَاهُمَا .
Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If someone is called to give testimony or is called to establish testimony, then in both cases he should be present."
