Hadith 44

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَبِيدَةَ عَنْ آيَةٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، فَقَالَ: عَلَيْكَ بِتَقْوَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَالسَّدَادِ ؛ فَقَدْ ذَهَبَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ فِيمَ أُنْزِلَ الْقُرْآنُ . " !
Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Ubaidah (may Allah have mercy on him) about a verse of the Qur'an, so he said: "Fear Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and follow the right path, for those people have passed away who knew about which matters the Qur'an was revealed."
