حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْقُرَشِيِّ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْفَرِيضَةَ لِابْنٍ لِي؟ فَقَالَ «ابْنُ كَمْ هُوَ؟» قُلْتُ: ابْنُ سِتٍّ أَوْ سَبْعٍ أَوْ ثَمَانٍ، فَقَالَ: «لَوْ فُرِضَتْ لِوَلَدٍ دُونَ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ لَفُرِضَتْ لَهُ»
It was asked of Umar bin Abdul Aziz: Can the obligatory prayer be valid for a child of six, seven, or eight years? He replied: "There is no obligation for anyone under fifteen years."
