حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ ضَمْضَمِ بْنِ زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قُرْطٍ الْأَزْدِيَّ، قَالَ: أَزْحَفَ عَلَى بَكْرٍ لِي وَأَنَا مَعَ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ، فَسَبَقَنِي الْجَيْشُ، فَأَرَدْتُ تَرْكَهُ، فَدَعَوْتُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُقِيمَهُ، فَقَامَ فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أَتَّبِعِ الْأَثَرَ حَتَّى لَحِقْتُهُمْ وَهُمْ يُقَاتِلُونَ الرُّومَ فِي شَرَفٍ، وَنِسَاءُ خَالِدٍ وَنِسَاءُ أَصْحَابِهِ مُشَمِّرَاتٍ يَحْمِلْنَ الْمَاءَ لِلْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَيَرْتَجِزْنَ "
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraih bin Ubaid (may Allah have mercy on him): Abdullah bin Qurt (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I was with Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him)." My camel lagged behind. I prayed to Allah. Allah made the camel stand up. I reached by following the army's banners. They were fighting the Romans. And the women of Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) were bringing water and raising slogans.
