It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him): When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from Uhud, he found the women of the Ansar weeping over their martyrs. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “But Hamzah has no one to weep for him.” Sayyiduna Sa’d told the women: “First, weep for the sorrow of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).” So they began to weep for Hamzah. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard this, he said: “I did not intend this.” And he forbade wailing.
