حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، قَالَ: نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ فِي قَتْلَى أُحُدٍ {وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ} [آل عمران: 169] وَنَزَلَ فِيهِمْ {وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنْكُمْ شُهَدَاءَ} [آل عمران: 140] قَالَ: قُتِلَ يَوْمَئِذٍ سَبْعُونَ رَجُلًا أَرْبَعَةٌ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، وَمُصْعَبُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ أَخُو بَنِي عَبْدِ الدَّارِ، وَالشَّمَّاسُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَحْشٍ الْأَسَدِيُّ، وَسَائِرُهُمْ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ "
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Duhha, may Allah have mercy on him: Regarding the martyrs of Uhud, this verse was revealed «وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ» and also this «وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنْكُمْ شُهَدَاءَ» about them. On that day, seventy people were martyred. Four were from the Muhajireen: Sayyiduna Hamza bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Mus'ab bin Umair (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Shamas bin Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with him). The rest were all from the Ansar.
