حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ: جَاءَ عَلِيٌّ بِسَيْفِهِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ مُخْضَبًا بِالدِّمَاءِ وَفَاطِمَةُ تَغْسِلُ الدَّمَ عَنْ وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: خُذِيهِ حَمِيدًا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنْ كُنْتَ أَحْسَنْتَ الْيَوْمَ الْقِتَالَ فَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ سَهْلُ بْنُ حُنَيْفٍ، وَعَاصِمُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، وَالْحَرْثُ بْنُ الصِّمَّةِ، وَأَبُو دُجَانَةَ»
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) brought his sword stained with blood on the day of the Battle of Uhud, while Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) was washing the blood from the blessed face of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Sayyiduna Ali said: "Take it with praise." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you have shown excellence in fighting today, then Sahl bin Hunaif, Asim bin Thabit, Harith bin Sammah, and Abu Dujanah have also fought excellently."
