Hadith 4020

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، أَنَّ رَبِيعَةَ بْنَ لَقِيطٍ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ هَدَمٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، يَقُولُ: «مَا تَرَوْنَ فِي نَفَرٍ ثَلَاثَةٍ أَسْلَمُوا جَمِيعًا وَهَاجَرُوا جَمِيعًا، لَمْ يُحْدِثُوا فِي الْإِسْلَامِ حَدَثًا، قَتَلَ أَحَدَهُمُ الطَّاعُونُ، وَقَتَلَ الْآخَرَ الْبَطْنُ، وَقُتِلَ الْآخَرُ شَهِيدًا» قَالُوا: الشَّهِيدُ أَفْضَلُهُمْ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهُمْ لَرُفَقَاءُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ كَمَا كَانُوا رُفَقَاءَ فِي الدُّنْيَا»
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Three men who embraced Islam together, migrated together, and did not cause any discord; one of them died of plague, one died of a stomach illness, and one was martyred." The people said: The martyr is superior. So Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "No, all three of them will be together in Paradise just as they were together in the world."
