Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) recited these verses on the day of the Battle of Ahzab: «لبث قليلا يشهد الهيجا جمل» (Wait a little, so that the camel may bear witness in the battle) and he said: «لا بأس بالموت إذا كان الأجل» (There is no harm in death when its time comes). Sayyidah A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) made supplication: “O Allah! Keep him safe, I only fear for a man from his surroundings.” Sa’id said: The mother of Sayyiduna Sa’d was weeping over his death, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Every weeper is a liar, necessarily, except for Umm Sa’d.” And Sa’id narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hazim that it reached him that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said on the day of the Battle of Uhud: “O Allah! Forgive my people, for they do not know.”
