Hadith 4001

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا ابْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، قَالَ: «أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أَحْمِلَ السِّلَاحَ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْعَدُوِّ»، قُلْتُ: أَفَيُحْمَلُ الْخَيْلُ إِلَيْهِمْ؟ فَأَبَى ذَلِكَ، وَقَالَ: «أَمَّا مَا يَقْوُونَ بِهِ لِلْقِتَالِ فَلَا يُحْمَلُ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَأَمَّا غَيْرُهُ فَلَا بَأْسَ»
Ata’ (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “I consider it disliked to carry weapons to the enemy, and horses also should not be sent to them. However, there is no harm in sending that which does not assist in fighting.”
