حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَنْعُمٍ، عَنْ حِبَّانِ بْنِ أَبِي جَبَلَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي فَيْئِهِمْ أَنْ يُفَادُوا أَسِيرَهُمْ وَيُؤَدُّوا عَنْ غَارِمِهِمْ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hibban bin Abi Jabalah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is obligatory upon the Muslims to free their captives by paying ransom, and to pay off the debts of their debtors."
