Hadith 3983

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «كَانَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْتِقُ الْعَبِيدَ إِذَا جَاءُوا قَبْلَ مَوَالِيهِمْ، فَأَسْلَمُوا، وَأَعْتَقَ يَوْمَ الطَّائِفِ عَبْدَيْنِ»
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to set free the slaves who came and accepted Islam before their masters, and on the day of Ta’if, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set free two slaves.
