حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ صُبَيْحًا: كَيْفَ كُنْتُمْ تَصْنَعُونَ بِالسَّمْنِ وَالْوَدَكِ؟ قَالَ: «كُنَّا نَأْكُلُ السَّمْنَ وَنَدَعُ الْوَدَكَ» قَالَ: إِنَّمَا أَسْأَلُكَ عَنِ الظُّرُوفِ، قَالَ: «مَا كُنَّا نَسْأَلُ عَنِ الظُّرُوفِ فِي ذَلِكَ الزَّمَانِ»
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When the purity of the vessels is not certain, do not consider the clothes to be lawful; wash them and then eat in them."
