حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ شِبْرِ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ، قَالَ: بَارَزْتُ رَجُلًا يَوْمَ الْقَادِسِيَّةِ فَقَتَلْتُهُ، وَأَخَذْتُ سَلَبَهُ، فَأَتَيْتُ بِهِ سَعْدًا فَخَطَبَ سَعْدٌ أَصْحَابَهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «إِنَّ هَذَا سَلَبُ شِبْرٍ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنَ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ أَلْفًا، وَإِنَّا قَدْ نَفَّلْنَاهُ إِيَّاهُ»
Shabir bin Alqamah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: On the day of Qadisiyyah, I confronted a man, then killed him and took his spoils of war, then I brought it to Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him). So Sa’d addressed his companions, then said: “This is Shabir’s booty, which is better than twelve thousand, and we have given this wealth to him as a reward.”
