Hadith 3851

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ عَنِ الصَّفِيِّ، قَالَ: «هُوَ عُلُوٌّ مِنَ الْمَالِ يَتَخَيَّرُهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»
Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked about "safiy," so he said: "Safiy was a superior portion from the wealth which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to select for himself."
