حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: أُتِيَ حُصَيْنُ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ السَّكُونِيُّ، وَهُوَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِأَرْضِ الرُّومِ بِأَسِيرٍ وَهُوَ عَلَى غَدَائِهِ، فَنَاوَلَهُ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ عَرَقًا مِنَ اللَّحْمِ، فَرَآهُ حُصَيْنٌ يَأْكُلُ، فَقَالَ: «كَيْفَ نَقْتُلُهُ وَطَعَامُنَا بَيْنَ أَسْنَانِهِ» فَخَلَّى سَبِيلَهُ
A prisoner was brought to Husayn bin Numayr Sakuni (may Allah be pleased with him) in the land of Rome while he was eating. The prisoner ate a piece of meat with him at the meal, so Husayn said: "How can we kill him while our food is still between his teeth?" So he was released.
