Hadith 3838

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو شِهَابٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ، فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ حُسَيْنٍ قَالَتْ: بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَيْدَ بْنَ حَارِثَةَ إِلَى مَدِينَةِ مَقْنَا - قَالَ سَعِيدٌ: مَقْنَا هِيَ مَدْيَنُ - فَأَصَابَ مِنْهُمْ سَبَايَا مِنْهُمْ ضَيْمَرٌ مَوْلَى عَلِيٍّ، فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِبَيْعِهِمْ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَهُمْ يَبْكُونَ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ: «مِمَّ يَبْكُونَ؟» قَالُوا: فَرَّقْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ وَهُمْ إِخْوَةٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تُفَرِّقُوا بَيْنَهُمْ , بِيعُوهُمْ جَمِيعًا»
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) sent Zayd bin Harithah (may Allah be pleased with him) towards Medina Maqna (Madyan), and some captives were brought from there, among whom was Dhamir. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) ordered that these captives be sold, but when he (peace be upon him) saw that the captives were crying because they had been separated from each other, he said: "Do not separate them, rather sell them together."
