Hadith 3816

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، قَالَ: «كُنَّا إِذَا خَرَجْنَا فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَأَصَبْنَا غَنَمًا، نَادَى مُنَادِي الْإِمَامِ، أَلَا مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَتَنَاوَلَ شَيْئًا مِنْ هَذِهِ الْغَنَمِ فَلْيَتَنَاوَلْ؛ إِنَّا لَا نَسْتَطِيعُ سِيَاقَتَهَا»
Atiyyah bin Qais (may Allah have mercy on him) says: "When we would go on a military expedition and found goats, the leader would announce: 'Whoever wants may take, because we cannot drive them.'"
