حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا مُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْخِزَامِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُرَقَّعُ بْنُ صَيْفِيٍّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي جَدِّي رَبَاحُ بْنُ رَبِيعٍ أَخو حَنْظَلَةَ الْكَاتِبِ أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةٍ عَلَى مُقَدِّمَتِهَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، فَمَرَّ رَبَاحٌ وَأَصْحَابُهُ عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ مَقْتُولَةٍ مِمَّا أَصَابَتِ الْمُقَدِّمَةُ، فَوَقَفُوا عَلَيْهَا يَتَعَجَّبُونَ مِنْهَا، فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ، فَلَمَّا جَاءَ انْفَرَجُوا عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ فَوَقَفَ عَلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا فَقَالَ: «أَكَانَتْ هَذِهِ تُقَاتِلُ؟ أَلَمْ يَكُنْ فِي وُجُوهِ الْقَوْمِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ: «الْحَقْ خَالِدًا فَلَا يَقْتُلَنَّ ذُرِّيَّةً وَلَا عَسِيفًا»
Rabah bin Rabi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a battle. Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) was at the front. When Rabah and his companions passed by a slain woman, they were astonished. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Was she fighting?” Then he said: “Go, tell Khalid not to kill children and laborers.”
