بَابُ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ وَأَقَامَ بِأَرْضِهِ أَوْ خَرَجَ عَنْهَاChapter on one who accepted Islam and stayed in his land or left it
Hadith 3769

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: «إِذَا أَسْلَمَ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ أَهْلِ السَّوَادِ، وَأَقَامَ بِأَرْضِهِ أُخِذَ مِنْهُ الْخَرَاجُ، فَإِنْ تَرَكَ أَرْضَهُ رُفِعَ عَنْهُ الْخَرَاجُ»
Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) says: "If a person from the people of Sawad (Iraq) accepts Islam and remains on his land, then kharaj (land tax) is taken from him, and if he leaves the land, then the kharaj ends for him."
