Hadith 3753

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو وَكِيعٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ: خَطَبَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ بِالْقَادِسِيَّةِ، وَقَالَ: «إِنَّا لَاقُو الْعَدُوِّ غَدًا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ، وَلَا أُرَانِي إِلَّا مُسْتَشْهَدًا فَلَا تَنْزِعُوا عَنِّي ثَوْبًا إِلَّا خُفًّا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Tariq bin Shihab (may Allah be pleased with him) that at Qadisiyyah, Sa’d bin Ubaid delivered a sermon to us and said: “Tomorrow, we will meet the enemy, insha’Allah, and I have a strong feeling that I will be martyred. So, let no garment be removed from my body except the socks.”
