Hadith 3731

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا حَزْمُ بْنُ أَبِي حَزْمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَمُوتُ لَهُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ، يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا وَلَهُ بِمِثْلِ مُلْكِ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا الْقَتِيلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، فَإِنَّهُ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ فَيُقْتَلَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى»
It is narrated from Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no servant for whom there is good with Allah and he would wish to return to the world, even if he were given the kingship of the whole world, except for the one killed in the way of Allah; he wishes to return to the world and be martyred again."
