Hadith 3729

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، سَمِعَ جَابِرًا، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنْ قُتِلْتُ فَأَيْنَ أَنَا؟ قَالَ: «فِي الْجَنَّةِ» فَأَلْقَى تَمَرَاتٍ كُنَّ فِي يَدِهِ، ثُمَّ قَاتَلَ حَتَّى قُتِلَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man said on the day of the Battle of Uhud: "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! If I am killed, where will I go?" He replied: "To Paradise." So he threw away the dates he had in his hand and kept fighting until he was martyred.
