Hadith 3728

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَأُقْتَلُ، ثُمَّ أُحْيَى فَأُقْتَلُ، ثُمَّ أُحْيَى فَأُقْتَلُ» كَانَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ ثَلَاثًا أَشْهَدُ لِلَّهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, I wish that I fight in the way of Allah, then be killed, then be brought back to life, then be killed again." Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) would repeat this statement three times and say: "I bear witness for Allah."
