Muawiyah bin Hudaij (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: "I passed by a man at the place of Mazmazmar who had his horse with him; he was holding the horse, standing in the shade of a mound. I sent my servant to go and find out who he was. It turned out that he was Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him). I came to him and said: O Abu Dharr! I see that this horse is tiring you and you have nothing with you. Abu Dharr said: This horse is a horse of supplication. Ibn Hudaij said: 'Do animals also have supplications?' Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Every horse supplicates to Allah at the time of dawn, saying: O Allah! You have entrusted me to one of Your servants and placed my sustenance in his hand. O Allah! Make me more beloved in his eyes than his son, his family, and his wealth."
