Hadith 3618

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: "We used to cut the thread necklaces from the necks of our horses."

Brief Explanation
Hushaym ibn Bashir is counted among the mudallisin (those who practice tadlis). And when a mudallis narrator transmits a narration with "an" (i.e., using the word "from"), his narration is not acceptable until there is explicit clarification of hearing (tasrih bil-sama‘), such as (haddathana/ana/sami‘tu). Therefore, since here there is no explicit clarification of hearing (tasrih bil-sama‘), there is a break (inqita‘) in the chain (isnad).
