Hadith 3606

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْبَزَّارِ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، قَالَ: بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَصَاحِبُهَا مُعَانٌ عَلَيْهَا، فَقَلِّدُوهَا، وَلَا تُقَلِّدُوا الْأَوْتَارَ»
Hazrat Mak’hool (may Allah have mercy on him) says: “It has reached us that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection, and the owner of the horse is helped by Allah, so saddle the horses but do not hang bells on them.”
