بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الرَّجُلِ يُعْطَى الشَّيْءَ يَسْتَعِينُ بِهِ فِي سيبلِ اللَّهِChapter on what is reported regarding a man being given something to help him in the cause of Allah
Hadith 3536

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا حَمَلَ عَلَى الْبَعِيرِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَهُ: " إِذَا أَرَادَ الشَّامَ إِذَا جِئْتَ وَادِيَ الْقُرَى مِنْ طَرِيقِ الشَّامِ فَاصْنَعْ بِهِ مَا تَصْنَعُ بِمَالِكَ، فَإِذَا أَرَادَ مِصْرَ قَالَ: إِذَا جِئْتَ سُقْيَا مِنْ طَرِيقِ مِصْرَ فَاصْنَعْ بِهِ مَا تَصْنَعُ بِمَالِكَ "
Whenever Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would give a camel in the way of Allah, he would say: "When you reach Wadi al-Qura on the road to Syria, treat it as you would treat your own property."
