بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي فَضْلِ الْجِهَادِ، وَإِنَّ الْحَجَّ جِهَادُ كُلِّ ضَعِيفٍChapter on what is reported regarding the virtue of jihad, and that Hajj is the jihad of every weak person
Hadith 3520

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ أُمِّ أَبِيهِ، قَالَتْ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الْجِهَادَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ: «أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى جِهَادٍ لَا شَوْكَةَ فِيهِ؟» قَالَ: بَلَى، قَالَ: «حَجُّ الْبَيْتِ»
A woman narrates: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said, "I want to strive in the way of Allah." He said, "Shall I not tell you of a striving in which there are no thorns?" He said, "Certainly." He said, "The pilgrimage to the House of Allah (Hajj)."
