بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي فَضْلِ الْجِهَادِ، وَإِنَّ الْحَجَّ جِهَادُ كُلِّ ضَعِيفٍChapter on what is reported regarding the virtue of jihad, and that Hajj is the jihad of every weak person
Hadith 3515

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: بَيْنَا نَحْنُ نَسِيرُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ سَمِعَ الْقَوْمَ وَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ: أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ، وَجِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِهِ، وَحَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ، ثُمَّ سَمِعَ نِدَاءً فِي الْوَادِي يَقُولُ: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ " فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ، وَأَشْهَدُ لَا يَشْهَدُ بِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا بَرِئَ مِنَ الشِّرْكِ»
Sayyiduna Yusuf bin Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from his father: We were walking with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when the companions asked, "Which deed is the best?" He (peace be upon him) said, "Faith in Allah, striving in His path, and an accepted Hajj." Then a voice was heard: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." So he (peace be upon him) said, "And I also bear witness, and whoever says this from the heart is free from shirk (associating partners with Allah)."
