حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّزَّالَ بْنَ سَبْرَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا قَرَأَ آيَةً سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خِلَافَهَا، فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَجِئْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَعَرَفْتُ فِي وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْكَرَاهِيَةَ، فَقَالَ: كِلَاكُمَا مُحْسِنٌ، لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا . !
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard a man reciting a verse in a way different from how I had heard it from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So I took him to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and I saw signs of displeasure on his face. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Both of you are reciting well, do not differ!"
