Hadith 3490

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هَانِئٍ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، يَقُولُ: «مَا غَزَتْ غَازِيَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَأَصَابَتْ غَنِيمَةً إِلَّا عُجِّلَ لَهَا ثُلُثَا أَجْرِهَا مِنْ آخِرَتِهَا فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ غَنِيمَةٌ تَمَّ الْأَجْرُ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "The army that fights in the way of Allah and obtains spoils of war, two-thirds of its reward is given in this world, and if there are no spoils, then the full reward is given."
Brief Explanation
Hafiz Ibn Hajar says about this hadith: Qadi Iyad has transmitted that some have objected to this narration, claiming that it is weak because it is narrated by Humayd ibn Hani, and he is not well-known.
But Imam Ibn Hajar states:
"This claim is rejected, because he is trustworthy (thiqah). Imam Muslim has used him as a proof, Imam Nasa'i, Ibn Yunus, and others have declared him reliable, and no one has transmitted any criticism (jarh) against him."
But Imam Ibn Hajar states:
