Hadith 3487

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: نا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ قَالَ: «إِنَّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ لَرِجَالًا مَا سِرْنَا مَسِيرًا، وَقَطَعْنَا وَادِيًا إِلَّا كَانُوا مَعَنَا فِيهِ حَبَسَهُمُ الْمَرَضُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out on a journey, and said: 'There are some people in Madinah who, whenever we set out on a journey and passed through any valley, they are considered to be with us; illness had prevented them (from traveling).'"
