Hadith 3478

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هَانِئٍ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ مَنْ رَضِيَ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيًّا، وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ» فَعَجِبَ لَهَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، فَقَالَ: أَعِدْهَا عَلَيَّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَفَعَلَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «وَأُخْرَى يُرْفَعُ بِهَا الْعَبْدُ مِائَةَ دَرَجَةٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ، مَا بَيْنَ كُلِّ دَرَجَتَيْنِ كَمَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ» قَالَ: وَمَا هِيَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ: «الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Sa'id! Whoever accepts Allah as his Lord, Islam as his religion, and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as his Prophet, Paradise becomes obligatory for him." Abu Sa'id expressed amazement at this and said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Please repeat this statement." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated it. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And there is another deed by which a servant is raised one hundred degrees in Paradise, the distance between each of which is like that between the heavens and the earth." Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: "O Messenger of Allah! What is that deed?" He replied: "Jihad in the way of Allah, Jihad in the way of Allah, Jihad in the way of Allah."
