Hadith 3449

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَضَى بِهِ لِأُمِّهِ، وَقَالَ: " رِيحُهَا، وَشَمُّهَا، وَلُطْفُهَا خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْكَ
Hazrat Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) gave the decision of the child in favor of his mother and said: "Her fragrance, her kissing him, and her gentleness and love are better for the child than you (i.e., the father)."
