Hadith 3420

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ خَادِمًا لِي تَسَنَّى عَلَى نَاقَةٍ لِي، وَأَنَا أَعْزِلُ عَنْهَا، فَحَمَلَتْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ [7/132] صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: « مَا قَدَّرَ اللهُ أَنْ يَخْلُقَهَا إِلَّا وَهِيَ كَائِنَةٌ » .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "One of my servants mounted my she-camel and practiced coitus interruptus (azl) with her, but she became pregnant." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What Allah has decreed will surely happen, and she was destined to become pregnant."

Fiqhi Benefit:
This hadith clarifies the effect of ‘azl (coitus interruptus) and the issue of divine decree (qada wa qadar).
Main Message:
‘Azl can be a means of prevention, but it is not effective against the divine decree of Allah.
The child who is destined (by Allah) will be born, whether ‘azl is practiced or not.
