Hadith 3398

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، نا مَنْصُورٌ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ الْعُكْلِيِّ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ، فَقَالَ: «لَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَلَّا تَفْعَلُوا، فَلَوْ أَنَّ هَذِهِ النُّطْفَةَ الَّتِي أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِنْهَا الْمِيثَاقَ كَانَتْ فِي صَخْرَةٍ لَنَفَخَ فِيهَا الرُّوحَ»
It was asked from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) about 'azl (withdrawal), so he said: "There is no harm for you in not doing it. If Allah has taken a covenant from any drop of semen, then even if it is in a stone, Allah will put life into it."
