أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، نا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي الْأَمَةِ إِذَا بِيعَتْ قَالَ: «يَسْتَبْرِئُهَا الْبَائِعُ بِحَيْضَةٍ، وَالْمُشْتَرِي بِحَيْضَةٍ»
Hasan al-Basri, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "The seller should observe the waiting period (istibra) of the slave-girl for one menstrual cycle, and the buyer should also observe the waiting period for one menstrual cycle."
