Hadith 3376

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا مَنْصُورٌ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ اسْتِبْرَاءِ الْأَمَةِ الَّتِي لَمْ تَبْلُغِ الْحَيْضِ قَالَ: «اسْتَبْرِئْهَا بِثَلَاثَةِ أَشْهُرٍ»، فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ فَأَتَيْنَا ابْنَ سِيرِينَ، فَسَأَلْنَاهُ، فَقَالَ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ الْحَسَنُ، وَقَالَ: مَرَّةً فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ، فَأَتَوْا إِلَى ابْنِ سِيرِينَ فَقَالَ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ الْحَسَنُ
Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "The waiting period (istibra) for a slave girl who has not reached menstruation will be three months." Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) also said the same.
