أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، فِي اسْتِبْرَاءِ الْأَمَةِ إِذَا اشْتَرَاهَا الرَّجُلُ قَالَ: «إِنْ كَانَتْ لَا تَحِيضُ يَسْتَبْرِئُهَا فِي خَمْسٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ، وَإِنْ كَانَتْ تَحِيضُ فَحَيْضَتَيْنِ»
Said bin Al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "A slave woman who does not menstruate, her 'istibra' (waiting period) should be forty-five days, and the one who menstruates, in two menstrual cycles."
