أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، مَوْلَى طَلْحَةَ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: «يَنْكِحُ الْعَبْدُ اثْنَتَيْنِ، وَيُطَلِّقُ تَطْلِيقَتَيْنِ، وَتَعْتَدُّ الْأَمَةُ حَيْضَتَيْنِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَحِضْ فَشَهْرٌ وَنِصْفٌ - أَوْ قَالَ - شَهْرَانِ» شَكَّ سُفْيَانُ
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "A slave will marry two women, he will give two divorces, and a slave-woman will observe the waiting period of two menstruations; if menstruation does not occur, then the waiting period will be one and a half or two months."
