Hadith 3335

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): "The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) divorced Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her), then, by the command of Allah Almighty, he took her back."

Brief Explanation
Benefit: The act of revocation (ruju‘) by the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is a legal proof in Shari‘ah. This revocation was based on revelation (wahy), and from this, the legitimacy of revocation after a revocable divorce (talaq raj‘i) is also established. Along with this, the testimony to the worship and piety of Sayyidah Hafsah radi Allahu anha is also found.

✅ Summary and Conclusion: The hadith is authentic in its chain of transmission. The giving of divorce and then revocation by the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was in accordance with revelation. From this, the issue of revocable divorce (talaq raj‘i) and subsequent revocation is strengthened. Along with this, the virtue and status of Sayyidah Hafsah radi Allahu anha become clear.
