Brief Explanation
Benefit: This supports the previous ahadith (2130–2131) and once again transmits the Prophetic principle "al-walad lil-firash" with a different chain of narration. This hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud radi Allahu anhu, and in it as well, the same judgment of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is mentioned, which forms the foundation of the Islamic Shari'ah's law of lineage. This hadith is also authentic in its chain of transmission and holds a fundamental juristic (fiqhi) status. From this, the following teaching of the Shari'ah becomes clear: lineage cannot be connected to a corrupt act such as fornication (zina); the foundation of lineage is marriage (nikah) and chastity (‘ismah); the Shari'ah maintains the protection of family lineage at all costs.
