Hadith 3249

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ خَارِجَةَ، قَالَ: كَانَ لِزَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ جَارِيَةٌ فَارِسِيَّةٌ يَطَؤُهَا، وَكَانَتْ تَحْزَنُ لَهُ , فَحَمَلَتْ , فَقَالَ: «مِمَّنْ حَمَلْتِ؟» فَقَالَتْ: مِنْكَ، فَقَالَ: «كَذَبْتِ، لَقَدْ قَتَلْتُ يَقِينًا مَا وَصَلَ إِلَيْكِ مِنِّي مَا يَكُونُ مِنْهُ الْحَمْلُ، وَمَا أَطَؤُكِ إِلَّا أَنْ أَسْتَطِيبَ نَفْسَكِ؛ لِأَنَّكَ تَحْزَنِينَ لِي، فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْ جَلَدَهَا، وَأَعْتَقَ وَلَدَهَا»
Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I maintained relations with you only out of gentleness and affection, I did not intend to have children with you. When a child was born, I set him free and imposed the prescribed punishment on the slave woman."
